How to Correct Name, DOB, Course, and Graduation Date on NYSC Portal

Imagine after completing your NYSC online registration, you realized that there is a mistake in your personal details you submitted. Errors like arrangement of names, wrong date of birth, course of study or graduation date can have a significant impact on your service year, especially on your certificate which will carry your date of birth.

Whether it’s a simple typo or a more significant error, ensuring that your information is accurate is very important for a smooth NYSC experience.

In this blog post, I will guide you through the steps to make these corrections on the NYSC portal. From understanding the requirements to submitting the necessary documents, you are covered in this post.

Correction of Name

  1. Visit the official NYSC portal at https://portal.nysc.org.ng and log in with your registered email address and password.
  2. Apply for Name Correction**: Scroll down to the “Apply for Name Correction” section.
  3. Enter the correct name details as required.
  4. Submit your request and wait for approval.

Note: NYSC does not approve the addition or removal of names.

Correction of Date of Birth (DOB)

For the correction of date of birth, you will need to have a WAEC Results Checker Pin, because your age will be extract from your WAEC result. If you have, then you can proceed with the steps below:

  1. Login to your NYSC dashboard.
  2. Click on the “Change Date of Birth” link.
  3. Input the WAEC Verification PIN, WAEC Type, Year of Exam, and Examination Number.
  4. Click “Verify” and then choose to submit.

Correction of Course of Study

  1. Login to the NYSC portal with your credentials.
  2. Scroll down and click on the “Correction of Course of Study” link.
  3. Choose the correct course of study from the list.
  4. Click the “Submit” button.

Correction of Graduation Date

  1. Visit the NYSC portal and log in.
  2. Find the section for correcting graduation dates.
  3. Input the correct graduation date as per your institution’s records.
  4. Submit your request and wait for confirmation.

Note: This option is no longer available on the NYSC portal, you can only visit school to help you apply for correction of graduation date.
